Bank of Hawaii’s Live Kōkua program, which means to “live in the spirit of helping others,” expresses the bank’s continued commitment to helping nonprofits better serve the community. Our Live Kōkua program is at the heart of our company culture. Our volunteers, affectionately called the Bankoh Blue Crew, are committed to giving back to the community almost every single weekend. In 2018, our Bankoh Blue Crew donated more than 14,000 hours of their own time to enhance our local community—whether through removing plastics from our shores, clearing weeds from our lands, or removing invasive mangrove from our fishponds. Our employees are committed to preserving, sustaining and beautifying what is special about the island of Hawaii.
